Your Sisters in Growth

Akina was unapologetically founded with an ambitious goal: achieve better health, financial and professional outcomes for black women with a sincere commitment to innovation, education and (global) connectivity.

We do this by providing ACCESS.

You see, Access IS Empowerment and Akina begins with access.

We provide access to the experts, information, tools and resources WE need to not just survive, but thrive. We are pulling together the best and the brightest experts in various industries and leveraging the latest innovations in technology to teach, mentor, and empower Black women no matter where they are or what they might be facing.

Through masterclasses, seminars, workshops, networking events, and even social events (yes, we like to brunch too), we are propelling Black women towards unprecedented heights in their personal and professional lives.

We don’t stop there. Of course we have an app! Akina Connect serves as a digital companion to the enhance the interactive experience and the put access within reach for Black women.

In addition to our education experience, and our digital platform, we are also curating a robust retail experience with retailers from far and wide who are offering our members special VIP benefits. These retailers include black-owned businesses, local and regional retailers and restaurants, and national corporate brands.

Meet Akina is a One-Stop shop for all things relating to women of color. Being a member of the sandwich generation where you’re caring for aging relatives yet trying to rear young adult children, one needs resources and Meet Akina were there.

Euphemia G., Business Banker, JP Morgan Chase

I am very excited about Akina 2.0! The previous app allowed me to network with other black women in a space where I felt comfortable discussing a variety of topics and supporting other black businesses

Kirsten Smith, Owner of MotherHues and BabyHues

As a Black Mom, I can’t emphasize enough how essential it is to have a supportive and relatable community. Community is important no matter where you are, and having access to a community that is a direct reflection of me is something I need and cherish at all times. Akina does just that.

It creates a space where I can connect with others who not only look like me but also share the same values while coming from different walks of life. Akina has become a place where I can truly connect, learn, and grow in my roles as a mother, wife, friend, and entrepreneur. Simply put, I am deeply grateful to have access to the Akina community because it plays a crucial role in my journey to connect with and learn from other human beings in a warm and safe environment.
